Year 5 Science

In Science the children will follow outlines for the QCA scheme of work for year 5.
The children will cover a wide range of topics starting with: Micro-organisms

The children will also learn about:
life processes interdependence and adaptation
  • dissolving
  • reversible and irreversible changes
  • forces
  • light and sounds
  • circuits.
In addition to these children may cover further units from elsewhere in the QCA scheme of work if it fits with the topic sessions the children may be undertaking.
Where possible, Science will be in the form of an experiment with children taught the different ways that an experiment can be undertaken. They will discover the importance of recognising constants and variables in an experiment whilst also encouraged to raw their own conclusions from experiments. SCIENCE
