Geography in Key Stage 2 builds on the knowledge and skills developed by pupils during Reception and Key Stage 1.  Pupils extend their knowledge and understanding of the world, with a particular focus on the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, and the Americas.  Moreover, pupils are taught the location and characteristics of the world's most significant human and physical features.  Fieldwork and the development of geographical skills (such as map reading and the use of a compass directions) is also a key part of Key Stage 2 Geography.
